So, every once in a while one of the RARE team is unlocked and allowed to leave the desk to rediscover their serenity. This last week it was my turn and I managed to escape to Barcelona for a few days to take in the various sites and museums etc etc. I shall not bore you with my own stories of Gaudi and the Dali museum in Figueres I managed to get to (amazing), but more my surprise on the Metro...

Now, if you've been there I'm sure you can appreciate how much better there tube is than ours. As they normally are in other cities, cleaner, wider, on time! However I was very surprised at the complete lack of advertising, not only in my (new local) metro stop but nearly all of them. A few had ads, which were quite frankly awful - sorry any Barcelonian subway designers out there. Any I must say - it made a nice change from the onslaught we seem to have in London.
